COMPASS® X DARBOTZ Collaboration Colors the Cityscape

Two major forces in Indonesia’s creative scene have come together in a groundbreaking collaboration—COMPASS®, the local shoe brand synonymous with youthful casual style, and Darbotz, a street artist renowned for his iconic characters and bold, urban visual style. This COMPASS® x Darbotz collaboration introduces exclusive designs that merge the distinctive elements of both parties. Inspired by reflections on resilience amid urban chaos, Darbotz aims to create a living dialogue with the city’s spaces through this collaborative work. The overarching theme of the COMPASS® x Darbotz collaboration is “Dare to Win,” translated into Indonesian as “Berani untuk Menang.” Through this theme, COMPASS® and Darbotz encourage the younger generation to boldly express themselves, push boundaries, and become winners in their own lives. More than just a fashion or streetwear statement, this collaboration symbolizes resilience in overcoming challenges and obstacles.

The Dare to Win Exhibition serves as a creative art showcase from COMPASS® x Darbotz, inviting Jakarta residents to experience the art world from a fresh perspective. Through the pieces on display, visitors can see a reflection of the “dare to win” spirit. The Dare to Win Exhibition runs from November 2–10, 2024, at Urban Forest Cipete in South Jakarta, a familiar space for Jakarta’s youth. The exhibition aims to bring art to life through unique installations, including giant spheres decorated with Darbotz’s signature work. The exhibit blends elements of urban art with green spaces, offering an immersive and captivating visual experience for all attendees.

The exhibition’s actualization involved many contributors, with COMPASS® and DARBOTZ as the primary collaborators. Bank BCA serves as the main sponsor of the event. Additionally, Mahavisual contributed as the event organizer and marketer. Mahavisual, a dynamic creative studio and artist management firm based in Jakarta, is dedicated to fostering strong connections between brands and the worlds of art and culture. Mahavisual is also committed to nurturing artists, helping them reach their maximum potential and grow. Currently, Mahavisual represents talented artists including Darbotz, Yessiow, Popomangun, Tempa, Rumah Gardu, and Mural Adeco, whose work they passionately support to be appreciated, heard, and recognized globally. The exhibition is curated by Gie Sanjaya, with guidance from Teddy Lazuardi and Rudi Lazuardi.
