Cuatrodia Creative Circle: Strengthening Craftsmanship Through an Integrated Ecosystem
Jakarta-based design and animation studio Cuatrodia has recently announced a major transformation. After more than a decade operating as a specialist agency, the company has officially evolved into Cuatrodia Creative Circle, a creative ecosystem that integrates strategy and execution under one roof. This change was announced in April 2026, coinciding with the company’s 13th anniversary.
The turning point behind this transformation did not come from within, but from clients themselves. Rahadian Ardi Nugroho, Business Director and Co-founder of Cuatrodia, described the moment clearly: “Cuatrodia’s evolution stems from a critical question raised by clients after the pandemic: ‘Who are we really?’” For years, Cuatrodia has been widely recognized for its expertise in motion graphics and animation. However, its portfolio and capabilities have long surpassed that label. The issue was that the identity presented to the public did not reflect this reality. The transformation into a Creative Circle is an effort to bridge that gap.
“This transition is our concrete response to more than ten years of navigating complex creative challenges. We no longer offer isolated solutions, but an ecosystem that connects high-level craftsmanship with measurable strategic thinking,” said Nuansa Agi, CEO and Founder of Cuatrodia.
Under this new model, Cuatrodia operates through four business units, each with its own specialization. Notion Nation serves as the hub for creative strategy and concept development. Design Dorm handles visual identity and brand aesthetics. Motion Machine focuses on motion graphics and animation. Meanwhile, Story on Craft (SOC) is responsible for merchandise production and physical assets.
This division is not merely an organizational restructuring on paper. Nuansa Agi noted that the transition process had been underway for at least a year prior to the official announcement. “A year of operational testing has provided a solid foundation to refine workflows and team collaboration based on real insights from the field,” he explained.
This means that the four-house structure has been tested since 2025 in real working conditions, including large-scale projects. “From Notion Nation as the strategic lead, to Motion Machine, Design Dorm, and SOC as execution engines, all operate within one organic ecosystem. We ensure that every client, from major corporations to government institutions, receives the artisan touch that defines Cuatrodia,” Rahadian added. He also mentioned that collaboration with GoPay stands as an example of a large-scale, multidisciplinary project involving teams from various cities, from Solo to Makassar, working within a unified collaborative system.
What makes Cuatrodia’s approach particularly interesting is its decision to grant each unit full ownership over its respective standards of work. Rahadian explained that since the pilot phase, leads within each house have been empowered with real autonomy. This is significant, as traditional creative agency models often create bottlenecks at the top management level. By distributing ownership across units, Cuatrodia aims to ensure that quality does not depend on a single point of control.
Their guiding vision, Ideas That Move, reflects this ambition. It represents ideas that go beyond visual output and deliver measurable impact for clients. Feedback from clients and partners speaks for itself. TB Putera from Netflix described Cuatrodia as a creative ecosystem ready to bring local works to the global stage. Meanwhile, Reynatta Ludy from Toyota Astra Financial Services, who has collaborated with Cuatrodia for eight years, sees this transformation as strengthening its position as an integrated strategic partner.
Transformations like this are not uncommon in the creative industry. Many studios that grow tend to move toward narrower specialization, while others expand their scope of services. Cuatrodia has chosen the latter path, with the important note that this expansion is maintained through sharp specialization within each unit.
